Village Inn

A most excellent Valentine’s Day at the Village – we worked out a handful of love-themed songs to add to our repertoire and had some new rhythm instruments to play with (I’m really enjoying Jim’s foot tambourine!).

Some of the new songs were Passionate Kisses by Mary Chapin Carpenter, I Try to Think About Elvis by Patty Loveless, and Jack and Diane by John Mellencamp (with a BassBoX beat to drive the song – one of fun new “toys” we’re messing around with). It was an adventure keeping the beat with one foot, standing on the end of the pedal with my other foot to keep it from migrating away, and thanks to my narrow stance, struggling to keep my balance and steadying myself with a mic stand! But of course, Jim is an amazing guitar player and singer, so despite my wobbles, I think it came out pretty cool if I do say so myself!

Thanks to our good friends for posing for a picture with us towards the end of the night – we love to share our gifts and it means so much when folks we love share that love with us!
